The metaverse is in an early stage of evolution and the inflection points of its impact are yet to be reached. While the technologies behind the metaverse have progressed very quickly in the last few years, there are three major milestones that are yet to be overcome by them. These milestones are as follows:
a) Social acceptance of wearables across the globe and across sections of the society, not just by early adopters but by late majority
b) Evolution of user behavior to demand use cases that justify presence
c) Democratization and decentralization of the business of the metaverse to disperse its control and its gains beyond the technology superpowers
