This document presents HCLTech’s recommendations for ‘5G network slicing’ implementation in the operator’s network. This document discusses the strategy that can be followed for both RAN and Core. This document also focuses on the approach for the implementation of a slice management solution. While there are numerous industry articles and discussions on how the network slicing in 5G can be used and monetized, it is critical to consider the standardization of solutions and interfaces driven by 3GPP. This document briefly summarizes the evolution of standards that facilitate slicing implementation.
