The service offering is built on IBM Cloud for VMware Solutions

NEW YORK and NOIDA, India, Sept 20, 2023 — HCLTech, a leading global technology company, announced the launch of its Shared Data Center as a Service (Shared DCaaS), an advanced service offering, which aims to help enterprises accelerate their hybrid cloud transformation journeys. This service offering includes shared data centers, dedicated data centers, and regulated workloads in a catalog-based model.

Enterprises are looking at newer ways to optimize their IT infrastructure costs and pandemic-induced supply chain challenges and global chip shortages have resulted in delayed availability of physical hardware and related components for data centers. HCLTech’s offering aims to address growing security and compliance concerns, a steep learning curve for different cloud technologies, along with high costs and a need for more control across different cloud environments.

HCLTech’s Shared DCaaS offering is ideal for sectors like financial services, healthcare and other highly regulated industries and provides comprehensive control and industry-leading security and compliance capabilities. Offered under a subscription, HCLTech’s Shared DCaaS gives enterprises the flexibility to customize their product to meet their specific business needs. The offering takes advantage of 100+ or similar bare metal configurations on IBM Cloud for VMware Soluitons, allowing for a  50% reduction in the number of required servers and up to 30% reduction in total cost of ownership, making it a highly cost-effective option. The Shared DCaaS offering aims to deliver robust data protection through backup and recovery processes, enabling greater business continuity.

“While enterprises across industries are looking to scale and transform their hybrid cloud-based operations, many feel restrained by their operational needs and budgets,” said Rampal Singh, Vice President and Head, Hybrid Cloud Services, HCLTech. “Our Shared DCaaS offering, powered by HCLTech  ‘Utility for Everything’ (U4X) consumption model, is designed to accelerate hybrid cloud-based digital transformations with subscription options that align with customers’ specific needs and are scalable to their growth.”

HCLTech, an IBM Ecosystem Business Partner, has worked with IBM to continuously expand their alliance to help clients accelerate digital transformation by integrating IBM Hybrid Cloud and AI technology with their enterprise HCLTech offerings. This new service allows clients to host their application workloads via managed services and deliver hybrid cloud benefits with comprehensive control and industry-leading security and compliance capabilities. The managed service further reduces costs through flexible pricing and availability of infrastructure, tools and operations on-demand. IBM Cloud has the largest VMware-verified cloud catalog and is the only SAP certified cloud provider to run production SAP HANA workloads on VMware on public cloud.

“Built on IBM Cloud for VMware Solutions, this is an exciting service offering that can help to streamline critical business operations for clients through flexible pricing and offerings,” said Steve Smith, General Manager, Global Systems Integrators, IBM. “We look forward to helping organizations meet their evolving business needs and will continue to build our relationship with HCLTech to develop and deliver innovative and transformative solutions to customers.”

"VMware, HCLTech and IBM have a shared commitment to helping clients adopt a cloud-smart approach to achieve their digital transformation objectives,” said Monty Bhatia, Vice President, for Global Systems Integrators, VMware. “By bringing together our collective expertise and innovation, we can help clients achieve their digital transformation goals by adopting IBM Cloud for VMware Solutions under the DCaaS offering to run mission-critical enterprise workloads more securely at scale.”
