Paris, London, Delhi, 8 April, 2009 - HCL Technologies Ltd. (HCL), a leading global IT services provider, was presented with the International Investor of the Year prize by the by the Greater Paris Investment Agency.

The award was presented by Thierry Jacquillat, President of the Greater Paris Investment Agency, in the presence of Valerie Pécresse, Minister for Higher Education and Research and Jean Paul Huchon, Presicent of the Ile de France Regional Council, in recognition of the investment made by HCL in the greater Paris area in 2008.

Monsieur Jacquillat said: 'We are pleased HCL chose Greater Paris as one of its key European focus areas. It offers a reliable and very productive workforce, supported by a modern infrastructure, and is positioned at the heart of Europe. HCL has recognised this through its creation of a stronger and important presence in France.'

The award provides recognition of HCL's exceptional commercial prowess during difficult economic conditions. Over the past 12 months, HCL has developed several significant strategies. Notably, HCL's 'Employee First' initiative, in which employees, are the main focus of its organisational structure, received a positive response in the business world. Employee First has empowered HCL employees to drive innovation, transforming client engagements and markedly improving client satisfaction. In addition, during 2008 HCL prevailed over fierce competition to acquire SAP consultancy, Axon. This was one of the largest ever acquisitions by an Indian company and was principally motivated by the strategic aim of increasing the company's core SAP delivery skills and increase its market share in key European markets.

Receiving the award, Rajeev Sawhney, President, HCL Technologies Europe, said: 'HCL is honoured to receive this award. We already have over 4500 people working in Europe, with 24 offices in 13 countries. A cornerstone of our model is that we commit to deliver excellent service without fail, and our investment in France helps build the client intimacy required to keep that commitment.'

Chris Connors, Country Manager for France, said: 'HCL prides itself on a commercial agility that can deliver immediate benefit to our clients, which in the current economic environment is important. Our clients asked us to build more local capability to help this process: This award is a reflection that we are doing that.'
