HCL’s support aimed at helping underprivileged communities
HCL Technologies (HCL), a leading global technology company, has returned as a Silver Bull sponsor for the 18th SGX Cares Bull Charge Charity Run, a Singapore Exchange (SGX) flagship initiative that raises money for charities with an aim to create positive impact by supporting the needs of underprivileged children and families, persons with disabilities and the elderly.
Driven by its commitment to being a sustainable company and its decade-long association with SGX, HCL supported the run by SGX Cares that brings together the companies globally as a community.
This year’s SGX Cares Bull Charge Charity Run from Oct. 29 to Nov. 7 drew more than 4,000 participants virtually from around the world and raised more than $2 million for SGX Cares beneficiaries. Partnering with Community Chest, the fundraising and engagement arm of the National Council of Social Service in Singapore, all proceeds will be channeled to the adopted social sector beneficiaries for 2021: AWWA Ltd., Autism Association (Singapore), Fei Yue Community Services, HCSA Community Services and Shared Services for Charities.
SGX Cares, the collective name for SGX’s CSR pillars of Bull Charge, Outreach and Financial Literacy, has now raised more than S$44 million since 2004 for more than 50 charities and a variety of causes through the support of corporate sponsors and partners. The continuous contributions have enabled beneficiaries to deliver better care and assistance to those in need and help them lead more positive, meaningful and comfortable lives.
