Swift Engineer
Responsibilities/Tasks:
- SWIFT Alliance Adapter (SAA) Proficiency
- Configuration & Administration: Knowledge of setting up, configuring, and maintaining SAA.
- Integration: Experience integrating SAA with other systems and applications.
- Message Processing: Understanding of SWIFT messaging types (FIN, ISO 20022) and message flows.
- Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Ability to monitor message flow and troubleshoot issues with SAA.
- Message Queue (MQ) Communication
- IBM MQ or Similar: Experience with IBM MQ (or similar) for message queuing and communication.
- Message Handling: Knowledge of message queuing, persistence, and transaction handling.
- Scripting & Automation: Proficiency in scripting for managing and automating MQ operations.
- Linux/Unix Systems Expertise
- Administration: Strong skills in administering Linux/Unix systems including user management, security, and performance tuning.
- Scripting: Proficiency in shell scripting (bash, etc.) for automation and system management.
- Networking: Understanding of networking principles and troubleshooting within Linux/Unix environments.
- Security and Compliance
- Security Protocols: Knowledge of security protocols relevant to financial systems (SSL/TLS, encryption, etc.).
- Compliance: Understanding of SWIFT security controls, regulatory requirements, and compliance standards.
- SWIFT Network Knowledge
- SWIFT Protocols: Familiarity with SWIFT messaging protocols and their operational aspects.
- BIC Codes and SWIFTNet: Knowledge of BIC codes, SWIFTNet services, and routing.
- Technical Skills
- Programming: Experience in programming languages relevant to system integration and automation (Java, Python, etc.).
- Database Management: Basic knowledge of database systems (SQL) for handling SWIFT message storage and retrieval.
- Monitoring Tools: Familiarity with system monitoring and logging tools (Splunk).
- Soft Skills
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Communication: Effective communication skills for interaction with various stakeholders.
- Documentation: Ability to document configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
- Experience and Knowledge
- Banking/Finance: Knowledge of banking operations and financial transactions.
- SWIFT Standards: Understanding of SWIFT standards, updates, and best practices.
- Project Management: Experience in managing and executing projects related to SWIFT infrastructure.
- Additional Skills
- Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., SWIFT Certified Specialist, IBM MQ) can be beneficial.
