Meet Anamika Shukla. Anamika is a TechBee, a software engineer, and an absolute inspiration. In this edition of She the Future, we hear more about her STEM story:
“I remember I used to watch this kids’ science show called ‘FAQ’. I consider the host of this show Prateek Sethi to be my first science teacher. He inspired me and sparked a sense of curiosity in me. A curiosity that drove me to STEM.
At school, I loved the sciences. I always tried to understand how things around us happened; I always questioned everything. And I found the answers to my tirade of questions in STEM.
I’ve been lucky to have strong female role models at home and at work. At home, I find support and inspiration in my mom. She is one of the bravest and most confident women I know. At work, I found Surbhi Sharan. She always motivated me to stand out, speak, and be proud of myself. She makes me feel confident in myself and guides me every step of the way.
From a young age, girls are taught to follow the rules and obey directives. Never let these rules define you. Take ownership and choose a path for yourself. The decision you make should be based on fulfilling your passions and not on pressure from others.”
