Job description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Middleware Tower Manager to oversee and manage our Middleware Tower. The role is onsite based out of customer location in Princeton, New Jersey and will be a 5 days work from office role. This role will involve leading three key tracks: Data Transport, Web Services, and Open System & Midrange Messaging. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, in-depth technical expertise on at least one of these Middleware tracks, and a proven track record in managing complex middleware environments.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Leadership and Management:
- Lead and manage the Middleware Tower team, including Data Transport, Web Services, and Open System & Midrange Messaging tracks.
- Develop and implement strategic plans for middleware services, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment through mentorship, coaching, and performance management.
2. Operations Management
- Oversee the daily operations for all the three tracks along with the respective Track leads and Tower lead based in offshore.
- Monitor Service Levels, ensure all tracks meet contractual service level requirements.
- Manage customer escalation and collaborate with the team at offshore on remediation steps.
- Develop relationship with various customer stakeholders, setup regular governance meetings to review performance.
3. Operational Excellence:
- Develop and enforce middleware standards, policies, and best practices.
- Oversee the performance monitoring and optimization of middleware systems.
- Manage incident and problem resolution processes, ensuring timely and effective solutions.
- Extensive experience in the ITIL processes.
4. Vendor and Stakeholder Management:
- Collaborate with vendors and service providers to manage third-party middleware solutions and services.
- Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, addressing concerns and providing regular updates on middleware operations and initiatives.
5. Project Management:
- Lead middleware-related projects, including upgrades, migrations, and new implementations.
- Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and on budget.
8. Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for middleware systems, processes, and configurations.
- Prepare and present regular reports on middleware performance, incidents, and project status to senior management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master s degree preferred.
- Seasoned IT Infra Delivery Leader with proven experience (typically 15+ years) in managing middleware environments with a focus on Data Transport, Web Services, and Messaging.
- Strong understanding of middleware technologies, including but not limited to message brokers, ESBs, and integration platforms.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with project management methodologies and tools.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, PMP) are a plus.
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to work on-call and respond to critical incidents as needed.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in working with cross-functional teams and managing vendor relationships.
