Job description:
1. Educational Background: BS in Human Factors Engineering or related fields (e.g., Product Design, UI/UX Design/Engineering, Cognitive Psychology) is required.
2. Relevant Experience: At least 6+ years of experience in human factors, usability engineering, or design, preferably in the medical device industry (Electro -Mechanical Device) with certification in HFE, IEA will be added advantage.
3. Core Skills: Expertise in human factors principles and techniques, including user research, user interface design, task analysis, and usability testing (formative and summative).
4. Domain Knowledge: Familiarity or experience with medical devices, particularly in cardiac space, is highly valued.
5. Cross-functional Collaboration: Strong communication, leadership, and collaboration skills to work with R&D teams and ensure human factors are integrated throughout the product lifecycle.
6. Usability Testing and Risk Mitigation: Conducts usability testing from early product prototyping to product validation, gathers and analyzes user errors, and translates findings into system risk mitigations
7. Regulatory Standards: Experience or working knowledge of Human Factors/Usability Engineering regulatory standards, which is particularly important in the medical device industry, while ensuring compliance with FDA guidelines and global medical device standards (IEC 62366, ANSI/AAMI HE75).
- To be responsible for providing technical guidance or solutions ;define, advocate, and implement best practices and coding standards for the team.
- To develop and guide the team members in enhancing their technical capabilities and increasing productivity
- To ensure process compliance in the assigned module, and participate in technical discussionsorreview as a technical consultant for feasibility study (technical alternatives, best packages, supporting architecture best practices, technical risks, breakdown into components, estimations).
- To prepare and submit status reports for minimizing exposure and risks on the project or closure of escalations.
