Job Title: Consultant (Network Data)
Role: Network Data L3
Location: Bangalore
General Summary
Sr. Network Engineer with ability to design, implement, maintain, and support our growing network infrastructure. Ability to be part of a systems engineering team that is responsible for designing and developing scalable, maintainable, highly available network architectures that meet business objectives and SLAs.
Possess critical technical knowledge of how business applications function in the operating environment and how they have been configured and customized to meet specific business and company objectives. They will also participate as a technical resource in medium to large-scale projects. This position frequently collaborates with other technical and business applications personnel to acquire or provide technical direction.
Working knowledge of multiple computing platforms (including physical, virtual, and cloud.) This position works independently, and as part of the Linux Infrastructure Team, and subject to the broad direction of a technical manager.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, Wireless Controller, , access points)
Configure and administer F5 & DDI Infoblox related requests and Issues
Participate in Major Incidents / Troubleshooting bridges to identify Root Cause
Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations
Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability
Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning
Provide Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues
Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure
Select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company s security team
Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
Good working knowledge of routing BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, MPLS
Good Working knowledge of Switching, STP, RSTP, Port Security, DHCP
Plan and execute in depth technical activity, influencing the direction of activities/plans and providing technical insight and guidance to others
Investigate and help resolve issues on customer s network and IT estates using agreed troubleshooting methodologies
Manage support cases to enable fast resolution that exceeds our customers expectations
Ensuring accurate recording of all cases using the Company s ticket management tool and closing within agreed timeframes
Using the central document repository, to ensure knowledge sharing across the team and enable best practice
Supporting and taking ownership of ad-hoc projects
Supporting wider team with knowledge share, via knowledge base communications (emails, how-to guides etc.) and contribution at team meetings
Job Specifications
Bachelor s degree, or equivalent relevant business experience
Has 11+ years of related work experience
Industry certification is a plus
Possesses highly developed technical expertise in multiple key operating/networking system or subsystem areas
Able to operate independently in developing and implementing the most complex technical solutions
Where applicable, demonstrates experience supporting in-house developed business applications and working directly with application development teams
Able to leverage scripting and other tools to automate routine tasks
Through product research and personal experience, able to articulate strategy for appropriating various software and technologies to meet long range computing requirements
