In the first edition of She the Future, we meet TechBee Vatsla Khattar. A designer cum technologist, Vatsla works in HCLTech’s Central Support team. Here’s her STEM story:
“My fifth-grade science teacher, Lekha Tiwari, inspired me to pursue a career in STEM. She taught complex concepts using real-world examples which caught my young imagination. She helped me grasp concepts that seemed unfathomable to fifth-grade Vatsla. But most importantly, she taught me how to face life’s challenges.
Like most young people, my first role models were my parents. They inspired me, supported me, and provided me with everything I have today. They are the reason I am where I am today. They are the reason I am who I am today.
I’ve always enjoyed designing and building things. I am fortunate that my work at HCLTech gives me the perfect arena to do this. When I first started at HCLTech, my mentor, Bhuvanya Ragunathan instilled in me the value of work ethics and the need to be curious.
To all the women and young girls out there, I'd like to say, never let anyone tell you that you can't do something because you're a woman; work hard to disprove their claims. When you have a dream, you must grasp it and hold on to it no matter what because nothing is impossible for those who try.”
