Job description:
As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will be part of the Foundational Infrastructure (FI) Engineering team. This is a critical role in the Windows Engineering function, responsible to architect, design and deliver our SLIs and SLOs to maintain a highly available Production environment. You would
Work with a global team of highly motivated platform engineers and software developers
Adhere to and drive SRE disciplines and processes across the global Windows Engineering team.
Balance feature development velocity and reliability with well-defined service level objectives (SLOs).
Run the Production environment by monitoring availability and taking a holistic view of system health.
Analyze data to diagnose and identify root causes to network-specific events.
Develop tools and services to automate the mitigation and remediation of network-specific events.
Manage end-to-end availability and performance of mission critical services and build automation to prevent problem recurrence.
Design, write and deliver software to improve the availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency of our global network.
Drive incident management process and support a blameless post-mortems culture.
Participate in system design consulting, platform management, and capacity planning.
The successful candidate will have outstanding verbal and written communications, a natural ability to learn in a fast-paced environment, and will be a self-starter with plenty of initiative.
Basic Qualifications
Minimum 5 years experience in a Site Reliability Engineering role or similar.
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related technical field involving coding and / or systems engineering.
Proficiency in one or more of the following: C#, .NET, Java, Python
Proficiency in PowerShell and/or Bash scripting
Experience with algorithms, data structures and software design.
Proactively identify efficiency and design improvements to existing systems and processes.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Windows operating systems.
Experience in any other shell scripting language.
Experience with distributed systems design, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Hands-on experience with debugging and optimizing code, as well as automation.
Experience of operating in a large scale enterprise environment.
Strong interpersonal skills, drive, and ownership.
Coding beyond simple scripts.
Solving novel problems from first principles.
- To adhere to quality standards, regulatory requirements and company policies
- To ensure positive customer experience and CSAT through First Call Resolution and minimum rejected resolutions / Reopen Cases
- To participate or contribute on EN business in creation of proposals to drive Service improvement plans.
- To independently resolve tickets & esnure that the agreed SLA of ticket volume and time are met for the team.
- To provide support for on call escalations /L3 level support and doing incident & problem management
- Work on value adding activities such Knowledge base update & management, Training freshers, coaching analysts & conducting interviews/participation in hiring drives.
